I've been paired with my MP as part of the
Royal Society MP-Scientist pairing scheme and today I'm travelling to London in order to start a week in Westminster. The aim of the pairing is for the scientists involved to learn more about the work of policy making, and then for the MPs to pay reciprocal visits to find out more about the work of the scientists. I'm paired with
Mark Williams, Lib Dem MP for Ceredigion.
The Royal Society have organised a packed timetable for the week, of talks and tours of the different aspects of Westminster. Then in any spare time, we shadow our MPs or civil servants (it's possible to be paired with either). It should prove to be quite a different week to my normal week in computer science!
